Event Description

Thank You For Participating In Another CYGP Event! The Day Was A True Success!!!

City Year Greater Philadelphia is proud to be involved in the effort to revitalize Tustin Recreation Center located in West Philadelphia. Registration will begin at 8:15AM, the opening ceremony will be held at 9:00AM and we will be ending our day at 2:00PM. We are happy to be partnering with the Philadelphia Department of Recreation. Volunteers will be revitalizing the center by completing indoor and outdoor painting projects, and light landscaping.

What is Serve-A-Thon? Serve-A-Thon is one of City Year Greater Philadelphia’s signature  service events where hundreds of volunteers will perform a single day of physical service. City Year leads volunteers, ranging from school-age children and youth to corporate employees to active community members, in restoring and beautifying recreation centers used for the public good.  The work performed by these volunteers transforms community resources into brighter, cleaner, and safer places for kids to participate in summer camps, after-school programs, and other enrichment activities.  The event further serves to connect people of different backgrounds, ages, and life experiences in a day of powerful community service.

All participants must fill out a waiver in order to participate.  Volunteers under 18 must get a parent or guardian's permission.

  • From I-76W: Take exit 342 to merge onto N 34th St/US-13/US-30 toward Girard Ave. Turn left at W Girard Ave. Slight right Lancaster Ave. Turn left at N 60th Street.
  • From I-76E: Take exit 399 for City. Ave/US-1. Turn right at City Ave/US-1. Turn left at Lancaster Ave/US-30. Turn right at N 60th St. 
  • From I-95: Take exit 22 toward US-30/Central Phila/I-676. Merge onto Lincoln Hwy. Partial Toll Road. Take exit 342 to merge onto N 34th St/US-13/US-30 toward Girard Ave. Turn left at W. Girard Ave. Slight right at Lancaster Ave. Turn left at N. 60th St.
